World-renowned illusionist David Copperfield will bring his act, "David Cop-perfield: An Intimate Even-ing of Grand Illusion," to the McCallum Theater from May 12 to the 14.
Copperfield, 52, who was born David Seth Kotkin, took his name from the lesser-known Dickens' novel, "David
Copperfield." He has been performing and thrilling audiences with his combination of magic tricks and storytelling for two decades. Copperfield headlined his first magic show at the tender age of 19, and since then, has built a loyal fanbase due to his elaborate illusions, including making the Statue of Liberty disappear, flying, levitating over the Grand Canyon, and walking through the Great Wall of China.
According to USA Today, Copperfield also founded the organization "Copper-field's Project Magic," dedicated to helping those injured, young or old, through the power and fascination of magic.
On his new show, Copperfield told the Press-Enterprise, "The show is constantly evolving ... new tricks are added, old ones are dropped ... so it stays fresh. But it's the randomly selected participants from the audience that make it fresh."
Tickets are available now at the McCallum Theater box office or by going to the McCallum Theater official website:
