Lately vampires and werewolves are so popular that many award winning actors and actresses are jumping onto the vampire werewolf bandwagon. Even Academy Award-nominated actress, Salma Hayek, is haunting theaters with her new film, "Cirque Du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant".

After playing a vampire stripper in the 1996 thriller "From Dusk Till Dawn", Salma Hayek now plays Madame Truska in this new film, a beautiful and exotic woman that has the ability to see the future and grows a beard when she feels aroused.

The "Vampire's Assistant" is directed by Paul Weitz (famous for American Pie) and is based on the first three books from the great book series called "The Saga of Darren Shan," by Darren Shan.

This saga fantasy adventure tells the story of a young man Darren Shan, (Chris Massoglia) who unknowingly breaks a 200-year-old truce between two warring factions of vampires.

Darren and his best friend Steve satisfy their curiosity by checking out the traveling freak show after finding a flyer to the "Cirque Du Freak" freak show. __When the show ends, Darren gets an offer he couldn't resist, becoming a vampire.

Once in this fantasy world of freaky creatures of the night, Darren begins his transformation from a young man to half-vampire.

In addition to Hayek, the film also stars John C. Reilly, Ray Stevenson, Josh Hutcher-son, Willem Dafoe, Michael Cerverais, Chris Massoglia, Patrick Fugit, Orlando Jones and Ken Watanabe. The movie is currently in theaters.
