November 7th the Jacqueline Cochran Regional Airport hosted its sixth annual Air Show. The high flying and stunts began at 9 a.m. and was wowing the crowd within the hour. The weather was perfect for the event and there were an estimated 40,000 people in attendance. All who attended were amazed by the aerial acrobatics on display; the children in particular were especially in awe of the stunts and tricks. One of the most exciting spectacles to witness was the "Red Bull Mig", a Soviet era jet piloted by a retired Air Force officer who had trained to do combat with the very plane he was now flying while in the military. Another crowd favorite was the Golden Stars Skydiving Team, who jumped in formation and were at first hard to pinpoint in the sky because of the height at which they jumped; they looked like little black dots in the big blue sky. As the team ascended, they ma-neuvered themselves so that the last individual to land, who had deployed a huge American flag, came down right in front of the cheering crowd. It was a great day for all in attendance.
